I’m so happy you’re here…
I’m Jen. A gentle business coach, experienced thought partner, and advocate for your humanness in your business.
I’m also a writer, mother, and human who is always happiest when curled up with a good book.
I support small business owners like coaches, artists, therapists, makers, and service providers like photographers and copywriters to create spacious workweeks, steady and sustainable incomes, and to honour your humanness each day in your work.
I’ve spent the past decade supporting hundreds of clients to bridge the gap towards more flexibility, ease, and stability into their business and I’m so grateful every day for the beautiful journeys I have the privilege of going on with my clients.
I believe that…
The only way to truly sustain our businesses is to work with our capacity, not against it - even if that means going at a slower and gentler pace
Honouring our humanness is how we do our most meaningful and impactful work and live a beautiful life alongside it too
Tending to our nervous system and rooting into steadiness in our business is the only way to sustain the courage, patience, and trust that this journey asks of us
We don’t have to be consumed by our work to create a steady and stable income for ourselves in our business
We don’t have to perform or persuade in our business to reach our sales goals, we can sell in a way that feels gentle and human instead
Intentional business model design is how we shape our working lives to truly work best for us
There is freedom in defining for ourselves what success and a meaningful and joyful life actually looks like for us so that we opt out of the exhausting chase of more, more, more
No one knows what your business needs to thrive more than you do - sometimes you just need a little guidance and support to crack open your own intuition
A little more about me…
I live in Manchester, UK with my husband, son, and two cats Marcy and Lila and our dog George.
I live in a chronically ill body and have designed my business to only ask 8-10 hours a week of me whilst still being the breadwinner for my family so that I can manage the needs of my health each day.
I spend most of my life minutes each week reading, hanging out with my husband and son, walking in the city I live in, and resting whenever I need to and this spaciousness and flexibility is something I’m so grateful for each day.
I have a secret dream of opening a bookshop one day and I’m currently writing the first draft of my first novel.
Let’s stay in touch…
I write weekly-ish essays for my Substack, I record weekly-ish episodes for my podcast, and I send a newsletter most weeks too - and you get access to my free simple & spacious library when you subscribe too!
(Can you tell I’m a big fan of a flexible writing and creating schedule? I used to never skip a week but these days I crave a little more breathing room some weeks).
I sometimes share on Instagram but will also go many months without posting a single thing too!
And what I’ve been reading, watching, and listening to recently…
📚 Books I’ve loved: Heart The Lover by Lily King, It’s Different This Time by Joss Richard, How About Now by Kate Baer, The Academy by Elin Hilderbrand, and I’m currently reading Brimstone by Callie Hart.
🎵 Albums on repeat: Mount Pleasant by Kelsea Ballerini, Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party by Hayley Williams, and Sable, Fable by Bon Iver.
And a Stranger Things rewatch as I (im)patiently wait for Season 5 📺
