Moving From Blogger

The import will only work properly if you're a paying user of Squarespace as trial accounts are limited to just 20 posts during an import. If you're moving your blog from Blogger to Squarespace, follow these steps to make the import as fuss free as possible:

  1. From the Home Menu > Settings > Advanced > Import/Export
  2. Click Import
  3. Choose Blogger
  4. Enter your Blogger URL in Blogspot URL
  5. Once it says success your import is complete
  6. Your Blogger content will have important as a Not Linked page. Click settings on this page, check enabled, and click save.
  7. To then add this important content to your mail navigation just drag it up and place.
  8. You can then rename this page as Blog including the URL slug. 

Moving From Wordpress

This process is pretty similar to Blogger, and like that process you have to being a paying user to import all of your content. To make moving your content from Wordpress and Squarespace as fuss free as possible follow these steps:

  1. From the Home Menu > Settings > Advanced > Import/Export
  2. Click Import
  3. Choose Wordpress
  4. Enter your Wordpress URL, Wordpress Login, and Password and being import
  5. Once it says success your import is complete
  6. Your Wordpress content will have important as a Not Linked page. Click settings on this page, check enabled, and click save.
  7. To then add this important content to your mail navigation just drag it up and place.
  8. You can then rename this page as Blog including the URL slug.

Domain Mapping

If with your Wordpress or Blogger site you had purchased a domain from a third party site, such as GoDaddy or Blue Host, it's super simple to remap that domain to your new Squarespace site.

URL Redirects

For many of us, when we move to Squarespace our URL slug for our blogs usually changed. For example, on Blogger your blog page may have just been your URL, whereas on Squarespace it will probably be www.insertyoururlhere.com/blog and this can therefore change some of your contents URL - meaning previous links to your site may no longer work.
