Life isn’t always easy, things don’t always go to plan, and none of us are entitled to our dreams coming true; we have to work crazy hard and then some to build a life for ourselves that we really love. If things were easy, we’d never learn, and the grit we develop when overcoming obstacles helps us grow as people more than any easy road ever would.
I was reading Holly’s recent interview with the awesome Kory Woodard where she said “don’t let the struggles hold you back from going after those dreams of yours” and her words resonated with me so much. Forging your own path and building your own creative career isn’t an easy road to take, and whatever the dream is that you’re pursuing I just want to remind you to not give up, even when things get tough.
Ever heard of the saying, good things come to those who wait? Well I think good things come to those who are proactive, who hustle, who work hard every day in pursuit of their long and short term goals. Things aren’t always going to go our way; maybe our business doesn’t grow as fast as we hoped, maybe people aren’t quite connecting to the words we’re putting out there, and maybe along the way we have to adjust our expectations and accept that we have so much left to learn. This doesn’t mean that we’re not going to get there, that our work and our dreams and ideas don’t have value, purpose, and possibility. There are no end points, we’re always learning, growing, and moving into our next adventure and the most important thing is that we keep going.
So don’t give up, even if things are hard - especially if things are hard. The struggle is what makes us stronger - it isn’t a sign that we should give up, it’s a sign that we have to keep going. Try new things, be persistent, keep moving forward, and work crazy hard to make those dreams come true.
I believe in you!
