  • Get Focused: Who are you trying to attract? What user/reader/viewer experience do you want to create? What are the foundations of your content marketing strategy?
  • Be Purposeful: Be intentional with your content marketing strategy - what story and message are you trying to share? How do you want people to perceive and engage with your brand? What ideas and methodology do you want to build your core content on?
  • Be Effective: Don't just create content for the sake of it, make it all work alongside each other to work towards your business goals and needs. For it to be effective it needs to be intentional and strategic every step of the way.

Don't forget, your content marketing strategy can include: Audio, Visual, Blog, Social Media, Email, E-Books & ECourses

  • Know: How can you help people get to know you? Are you showing up enough and giving your audience and community the opportunity to know the person and the story and purpose behind your brand? Can they connect with you on a deeper level?
  • Like: Does your audience like you? Are you sharing an authentic version of yourself that gives people the opportunity to connect with who you are, what you do, and why you do it? 
  • Trust: Have you built up trust with your audience? Do they trust that you will deliver on what it is you're offering? Do they trust you have the expertise and experience to back up your services and products?

Ask yourself:

  • What are the practical results and improvements customers and clients will find after working with you?
  • What do you help them achieve? How and where do you bridge the gap?
  • What are your dream clients actually struggling with?

Decide the pathway/funnel you want your dream clients to take from passive reader to brand ambassador and client and customer.

It may look a little something like this:

Find your brand > Engage with your website > Engage with your content > Sign up for more > Go deeper into your brand > Share your brand with their community > Invest in your services and offerings

But it's up to you to define and fine tune the path you'd like to create. Be intentional with your website and carve out a pathway/funnel that you'd like your readers and prospective clients to move through.

  • Take a look at your current services: do they delight, inspire, and excite? Or are they similar to everything else out there that already exists?
  • Do they connect with your dream clients? Do they show how you can truly be of service to them? 

Services that attract dream clients need to blend together:

  • Your expertise
  • Your dream clients needs and pain points
  • The results you bring and what you deliver
  • + Be packaged in a way that inspires, excites, and delights

Building your own methodology is the difference between just making noise and actually having something valuable and insightful to say. 

Ask yourself:

  • What core values shape and define my ideas and methodology?
  • If you had to break your methodology down into 3-5 core beliefs, what would they be?
  • What ideas and experiences have shaped your work?

  • Pinpoint who your ideal audience is, how you can serve them best, and what it is they’re looking for
  • Build an audience who truly understand, connect with, are are interested in what your brand stands for and offers them
  • Build an audience who have the possibility to turn into clients and customers along the way

Your sales copy needs to:

  • Get specific on the problems your services and offerings solve
  • Answer any questions/concerns prospective clients may have
  • Attract & repel at exactly the same time
  • Get prospective clients excited and hooked on what it is you have to offer
  • Back up what you’re offering with tangible proof

Brainstorm and pinpoint different ways you can achieve each of these steps with your sales copy.
